Thursday evening, 11 October, the weekend events will begin at "Shadowbrook", a Bavarian style home of Chev. Nelson E. Davenport, Commander, Cumberland Commandery, and Dame Clara R. Davenport. Beef tenderloin and an included Mint Julep headline the dinner. Motor coaches depart the Franklin Marriott at 6:00 p.m. and will return by l0:00 p.m. Cash Bar will be available.
Friday morning, 12 October, we are offering a choice of three (3) tours:
A: A Civil War Battle Field Tour escorted by A&E historian Thomas E Cartwright, in period dress. Sites include Spring Hill, Rippa Villa, Winstead Hill, the Carter House and Carnton Plantation. Lunch will be at "The Bunganut Pig". Price includes admissions, but not lunch. Tour limited to 45 people.
B: Historic Downtown Franklin Tour also includes admission to the Carter House and the Carnton Mansion, with time allowed for shopping on Main Street, Franklin. We are suggesting a light lunch at HRH Dumplins, 11:00 a.m.
C: Nashville Yesterday and Today, hosted by Dame Mary Nell Snoddy, you will see historic "Travelers Rest", Fort Nashboro (original settlement of Nashville), Tennessee State Capitol, Printers Alley, Parthenon in Centennial Park, Belle Meade, and Belle Meade Plantation. Price includes all admissions.
